I have lost one grandmother to breast cancer, and my other grandmother survived it. Add to that the fact that my uterus is really fond of growing polyps, and that puts me in a pretty damn high risk catagory.

I've seen the ravages that cancer can cause....and I've seen more women survive it than die from it. That's what keeps me from freaking out is the fact that I know that it CAN be survived, especially when it's caught early. In fact, not only can it be survived, it's more and more likely every year that it will be survived. I laugh now that I don't fear cancer, but I do fear tonsilitis (after having had it something fierce at 17 on a school trip to Germany).

It's a risk. So is driving, so is eating, so is breathing these days. But it sounds like you are doing the right things - getting looked at on a regular basis. Always remember that catching it early is the best way.
