My NaNoWriMo Progress

So... close... *passes out*
gloraelin: A Bunny, sitting on the moon fishing stars (Default)
*sighs*

So. The move went well - long, but well. I honestly feel more at home up here, in small-town America, than I ever did back in Colorado. I hope I can stay here for a while, and recharge myself. If I get the job I want though, in a while we're probably going to move down to Redmond. Yes, that Redmond.

However. I have totally blown out my left shoulder. It would have to be that one [I'm a lefty]. I can barely move it, and, in fact, it's why I'm up at such an ungodly hour. Thing is, the doctor's don't know what I did. The X-Rays were normal, the MRI was normal. So now they're probably thinking it's all in my head and I'm drug seeking. Which I'm not, thanks. The only reason I'm taking the vicodin at all is so I can get a modicum of sleep every night.

I have another appointment on Wednesday with a new doctor. This one has a special background in Rheumatology, and so if this is somehow connected with my fibro, she should be able to help. I'm also looking for some refills and a referral to a shrink.

IN OTHER NEWS:

First: I'm going to be making a quilt! It's a very simple pattern, just 2 1/2" strips sewn together and made into blocks. I like it a lot, and we chose the fabrics yesterday. There are a lot of... erm, shall we say, shiny fabrics in there. :D

Second: I'm doing National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel [or more!] in the month of November. I've tried it before, when I was working at Dish the first time, and failed spectacularly. Now, however, I'm over 30,000 words into it, making me well over goal. I think I can do it, I really do!

Third: Job hunting sucks, but at least I have backup if it takes too long. I'm really gunning to do what [livejournal.com profile] thunderbird8 does - game testing for Nintendo. I know it's not all fun and games, but it seems like it'll be a better atmosphere than most of my other jobs have been. I had an orientation "first interview" there a week and a half ago, and now I'm just waiting to hear back to see if they want to do a second interview. And yes, still looking for jobs while I wait.

*taps mic* hello, hello, is this thing on? [cue feedback, of course.]

So. We're moving to Seattle [technically to Lake Stevens, but who's heard of that place? Seriously.]. On Friday. Yes, I realize this has come really late, but I have this horrible habit of forgetting about this thing even though I read my flist every day.

I have no ulcer, but a lot of inflammation in my stomach/gut. It's not really going away, either, but the medicine regime I'm on is making it a little better.

I hate my mental state, and want to flush all my drugs down the toilet, but that would be kind of stupid.

I'm still "truly, madly, deeply" in love with [livejournal.com profile] thunderbird8, which is a good thing.

Job sucked, finally quit when ... well, that's too long of a story.

Might already have a job up there... receptionist at a chiropractor's office. Nintendo wants Sean back.

Yeah. Have an update, y'all. And packing sucks ass.

Meme day!

So I just had the mother of all workups done by my doctor. I am now positively diagnosed as being pre-diabetic.

*whimper*

I now have to make a million and one changes to my life. I can't believe this is happening. I never expected it to rear up like this.

*BLEH*

You do not feel nervous in social situations, and have a good impression of what others think of you, however you experience panic, confusion, and helplessness when under pressure or stress. You are not prone to spells of energetic high spirits. You prefer the security and stability brought by conformity to tradition. You do not like to claim that you are better than other people, and generally shy from talking yourself up, however you generally see others as selfish, devious, and sometimes potentially dangerous. Mostly you work towards achieving your best, although in some areas you are content just to get the job done.

a great big farking "WOO!" to having to leave work AGAIN to go to the ER. The advice nurse said I technically was supposed to 911, but I didn't really want to do that [or pay for it!]. She was really concerned because I was having chest pain plus trouble breathing. And my inhalers weren't working.

Sooooooo explain it to Mick, get home, leave again for U. of Colorado Hospital, get seen, etc etc. EKG, nebulizer treatment, the works.

The diagnosis: PLEURISY. I mean, come ON. I have a century-old diagnosis for my issues! Though it does make some sense. I've got an on-again off-again cough and that apparently bothered the lung tissues enough to swell and irritate them and the ... tissue casing, or something. Now they rub up against each other instead of having a nice cushion of fluid to prevent it. OW. I have arthritis... or is it bursitis? in my lungs. Greeeattt.

oh well. So now I have to just take ibuprofen to reduce the swelling and take it easy. Blech. At least I have a someone here to help me through all this. *hugs to Tbird*

I just SQUEAKED while yawning. What on earth?

so it's been a while since I've posted. I've been a] busy and b] SICK.

Busy: [livejournal.com profile] thunderbird8 was here from December 27th until... well, today. This afternoon I had to take him back to the airport. It hurts, really, to have the place empty after there's been another body in here for so long.

He's awesome. I loves him muchly.

I've gotten a second job, working from home. it's pretty neat, I take calls and get an hourly wage-thingy. Mmmm money.

Sick: apparently I picked up the killer-cold adenovirus thing. It landed me in the ER THREE TIMES in five days. massive suck there. Was on augmentin for a couple days, then when I started having trouble again they switched me to levaquin. That shit is really damn expensive - $120 for a ten day dose! But... the cost was worth it - two doses and I'm well on the way to recovery. What REALLY sucks is that I'd been kicked out of Work work and told not to come back until I have a dr's clearance - she says probably tomorrow [Thursday]. Major ickiness there. Oh wells - that's why I have the other job, duh.

----

I'm also doing really well in my weight loss - I'd gained it all back, boooo [probably due to being sedentary from the cold outside], but now I'm losing again, very slowly, but it's also started to level. Nowhere near my goal, but ... it's a start.

All in all... it's been an interesting month. Maybe I'll remember to update more often. Right.
gloraelin: A Bunny, sitting on the moon fishing stars (Default)
So I'm a little jumpy right now. Have been for the last 12 hours.

Why, you ask?

Because on my way into work last night, I managed to hit ice. While I was braking and downshifting. Yeah. Wound up skidding and sliding ALL OVER the road, and wound up in a ditch. That was three feet down. My first thought, that I remember, was "Oh god, I'm ALIVE!"

... then it was "Oh. Well. I missed the sign!" And then it was "well shit, now what?"

I got picked up by a coworker [Thank You, Chad!], was able to get AAA to yank it out of the ditch, etc etc. Car is fine, just need to pry the 4-6" of snow from inside the tires. I'm ... mostly fine. Very shaken, and trying to decide if I want a good stiff drink [at 9:30 in the morning!] or not.
gloraelin: A Bunny, sitting on the moon fishing stars (Default)
My apartment smells wonderful. Like ... like Christmas! Mmmm candles. "Holiday Spices," "Cinnamon & Bayberry," and "Pine Berry" FTW!
gloraelin: A Bunny, sitting on the moon fishing stars (Default)
I'm sick. Really sick. I sound like Peppermint Patty [and I really don't normally sound like that at ALL], my throat hurts, and this cough is making my chest hurt.

Also, I just horked up blood flecks. This is concerning.

God, I'm so sick of this shit. And I'm tired of doing it alone. I want Sean to come back. :(
gloraelin: A Bunny, sitting on the moon fishing stars (Default)
Wiis are glorious things. OMG, I want one.

Seeeaaannnn... come back and let me play more!

nabbed from [livejournal.com profile] nowie411

For the first three people that reply to me and re-post this challenge - I will send you something groovy.

It might be something I've made, or something cool from my hidden stash of fabulousity, it might be a mix CD - or a rubber duck, a book I think you will enjoy, or something else that is awesome.

Whatever it is, I promise that I will get it to you in 365 days or less. (I will need your snail mail if you're not local).

The only thing you need to do in order to participate is to be one of the first three to reply to this, AND post this very same thing on YOUR live journal - cause its fun to give people stuff!
gloraelin: A Bunny, sitting on the moon fishing stars (Default)
From [livejournal.com profile] nowie411: comment and I'll give you a letter. In your journal, list 10 of your favourite songs that begin with that letter.

I have an "L"... [and I don't think I have 10 favorite songs that start with that letter. uh oh?]

1] Great Big Sea: Lucky Me
2] Monty Python: Lumberjack Song
3] Clash: London Calling
4] Nickel Creek: The Lighthouse's Tale
5] Jolly Rogers: The Last Watch
6] Frou Frou: Let Go
7] Great Big Sea: The Last Shanty
8] Great Big Sea: Let It Go

... and I'm *out*, sadly. Oh well. Give me more songs that start with "L", people!
