Today in creative writing: found poems. Innnteresting. I got handed a copy of National Geographic and was told to create poetry out of words/phrases I found in it. Now we have the following:

ancestors witness beauty and blindness
set in stark opposition
terraced sepia pinnacles form a patchwork,
and silky-textured zebras wade
through the swamp grass. An opaque
future enthralls a generation of
ignorance. Graveyard: a million mountains
of luscious sand, camouflaged by
a trickling mood. In a dream,
conversations opaque with bleakness
honor those who died, discounting castoffs,
inventing silver liberty. The bright crescent
of ornamental creative technical amnesty
makes them thunder across plains, crying
"war is bad." The terminology of extinction:
a population ready to illuminate a
discarded slum - inaugurate corruption.
Spacious aerial expanses award me the
sight of... a lone tree.
