Why I do...
May. 18th, 2007 08:34 amWhat I do, and love it. When I started working at ROP, it was 'just a job' for the money, etc etc.
Now, it's something more. When I walk into a unit for the night, and have kids greet me with a smile, that's something. When they're positively beaming because they just graduated High School earlier that day... it gives me warm fuzzies.
These are kids that would have little to no chance of graduating outside of there... yes, they're in The System, yes, they screwed up. But they're turning their lives around, and they're so proud of it.
And I'm proud of them.
