*sighs*
So. The move went well - long, but well. I honestly feel more at home up here, in small-town America, than I ever did back in Colorado. I hope I can stay here for a while, and recharge myself. If I get the job I want though, in a while we're probably going to move down to Redmond. Yes, that Redmond.
However. I have totally blown out my left shoulder. It would have to be that one [I'm a lefty]. I can barely move it, and, in fact, it's why I'm up at such an ungodly hour. Thing is, the doctor's don't know what I did. The X-Rays were normal, the MRI was normal. So now they're probably thinking it's all in my head and I'm drug seeking. Which I'm not, thanks. The only reason I'm taking the vicodin at all is so I can get a modicum of sleep every night.
I have another appointment on Wednesday with a new doctor. This one has a special background in Rheumatology, and so if this is somehow connected with my fibro, she should be able to help. I'm also looking for some refills and a referral to a shrink.
IN OTHER NEWS:
First: I'm going to be making a quilt! It's a very simple pattern, just 2 1/2" strips sewn together and made into blocks. I like it a lot, and we chose the fabrics yesterday. There are a lot of... erm, shall we say, shiny fabrics in there. :D
Second: I'm doing National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel [or more!] in the month of November. I've tried it before, when I was working at Dish the first time, and failed spectacularly. Now, however, I'm over 30,000 words into it, making me well over goal. I think I can do it, I really do!
Third: Job hunting sucks, but at least I have backup if it takes too long. I'm really gunning to do what
thunderbird8 does - game testing for Nintendo. I know it's not all fun and games, but it seems like it'll be a better atmosphere than most of my other jobs have been. I had an orientation "first interview" there a week and a half ago, and now I'm just waiting to hear back to see if they want to do a second interview. And yes, still looking for jobs while I wait.

Date: 2008-11-18 03:12 pm (UTC)Very sorry to hear about your shoulder. I hope that they can figure out what's wrong with it soon. I know what you mean about being treated like that 'cause the doctors think it's in your head. I was treated like that by the ER doctors last year when I was in so much pain from a head-to-toe eczema flare that I hadn't slept for three days. They sent me home with only two tubes of medicine that was supposed to last two weeks (keep in mind that one goes through 60 grams of medicine very quickly when one literally has to coat head-to-toe in it) and a $1,000 bill. I was flared again within two weeks 'cause I ran out of cream after a week. But, anyway, really, really, really, hope they figure out what's up.
Oh! You sew/quilt, too? Last year for Christmas my boyfriend and I (mostly me) made his niece a quilt. It's the first (and so far only -- sort of expensive) quilt I'd attempted and I think it turned out well.
Good luck with NaNoWirMo. I'd be afraid to try it but I know several people who are.
Also, good luck with the job hunt! I hope Nintendo gets back to you!
